I'm going to tell you about my Huckleberry Bey model.
I bought him off ebay for a cheap price, considering he's LSQ proven. I
didn't know he was proven when I bought him. He was cheap. I liked
Huck. At first I regretted buying him; I'd heard the mold was tippy, and
when the auction came up I really hadn't been planning on bidding. I'm
glad I did. When he arrived in the mail any doubt faded to nothing. A
few weeks later a parcel came in the mail. Shocked, it had his ribbons
in it. A bunch of them, even a NAN Top Ten Rosette. As the story goes,
the ebay seller I purchased him from had emailed my Mom that she had
found 'his' (Huck's) ribbons and asked if Mom would like her to send
them. Mom said yes, and surprised me with them. It was quite a nice
surprise. His legacy goes farther though, and this is the sweet part.
The girl who had shown and own him previously was closely related to the
seller, and had passed away. It was really hard for the seller to sell
the collection, and mentioned in each listing how special they were. I
am so pleased and heart warmed to have one of those very special horses.
I don't know the wherebouts of the other horses from the collection,
but I hope they found nice deserving homes as well. And while I don't
know Huck's old show name (I still have his old leg tag though! It just
said Bay Arabian Stallion on it though) I've renamed him Once in a Life
Time, and he remains one of my favorites.
